    Date Reviewed: June 26, 2008
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $125.00
Strengths:strong arms, low cost for 26/36/48, not too heavy.
Weaknesses:non-drive side bearing seal, rings seem to be kinda soft.
    Similar Products Used:fsa, s-mano.
    Bike Setup:ht xc/commuter hybrid.
Bottom Line:decent crankset for cost. problems: non-drive side arm/bearing seal developed problem after 10 trail rides, one was very wet and dirty. dirt seeped into the spined area (which is also the bearing contact area), and caused slight corrosion on cro-mo spindle. cleaned up and seems to be better, but i'll be servicing the BB everytime i ride in muddy spring conditions to try to prolong life. one tooth on 26 ring sharkfinned after a dozen outings. this set isnt perfect, but the chainrings are on par with most other stock rings in this cost category, and the BB is better than others, i have had worse. wish i could give 3.6 but overall, i am pleased, it is very good for commuting, but...

    Favorite Trail:Cherokee/ Seneca
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Price Paid: $161.00
    Purchased At:wholesale
    Strengths:stiff arms, light
Weaknesses:left crank allen bolt design is horrible. Design equivelent to a threaded stem. Loosened during ride, left crank arm came off and dangled from my shoe. The splined spindle barely stripped and I haven't been able to keep it tight for long ever since, even with a lot of loctite.

Bike Setup:Jamis Durango 1.0 2008, RS Recon 351 u-turn, mavic 321, avid mech discs, thomson x4 and laid back post
Bottom Line:Poor design, Shimano XT Hollowtech 2 will be replacing these. Polska- EURO 2008!!!

    Strengths:Stiff,
Great transfer of force from leg to wheel.

    So -1 chill
    Similar Products Used:Fsa GammaDrive MegaExo
    Bike Setup:'06 Corratec X-Vert Expert
Bottom Line:After changing from Fsa i noticed a big difference.

It's very stiff so i ride a lot faster, accelerate faster.

    Date Reviewed: March 24, 2008
    Favorite Trail:Canyon Lake, Palo Duro
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $130.00
    Purchased At:REI
    Strengths:Looks. Strong crank arm.
Weaknesses:After less than a year some teeth on the small wheel have been ripped off. Could be the trauma I put it through but hey I've only been riding for less than 2 years.
Similar Products Used:OEM Shimano very soft
Bike Setup:2006 Trance 4 with upgrades: SRAM X7 rear derailleur & shifters, OEM Shimano front derailleur, BB-5 front, BB-7 back, Rock shox reba SL, OEM Fox Float rear shock, OEM wheels, WTB velociraptor front, WTB Muratano back, Thompson Elite post, FSA K Force XC carbon handles, FSA OS alloy stem, San Marco Island seat
Bottom Line:I bought this after reading reviews on mtb. I thought it would have lasted longer without damage. Oh well, I am a novice. Maybe these things need to be changed every couple of years, I don't know.

Submitted by Jay Notes a Racer from Middletown, ca
    Date Reviewed: October 27, 2007
    Favorite Trail:Las posadas
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $145.00
    Purchased At:Bike Rack
Strengths:Super Strong, handles 6-10 foot drops like they where made for them. And yet, strong enough even to handle many many many jolts and vibrations every trail offers. Looks are awesome. Rides great.
Weaknesses:none so far, just great cranks
Similar Products Used:None i have had can compare to this, i broke 3 cranksets during previous years, including two shimanos and the stock one the bike came with, but these stand up to my demands and are always ready for a beating.
Bike Setup:Many upgrades. this is one of them. Upgrades include a Marzocchi all mountain 3 eta fork, Shimano cassette that kicks ass, new chain, new rims new just about everything. Much better than stock package.
Bottom Line:Simply awesome cranks, sure they arent Race Face, but they can easily compare. Buy them, thank me later.
