If youre gonna get carbon gloves you might as well go all the way instead of just outer protection. Im probly gonna switch to troy lee apexes.

The palm is a different stroy though.... I had one stack and went face first into the concrete (get on the dirt hey), and i put my hands out to stop me, and the palm lost all of its stitching and left a hole in them. The fit of these gloves is perfect for my hand.
Palm has additional layer of "leather" securely stitched in, and no "padding" added. palm does not bunch up, provides a very direct feel of the grip/bar. I hate hate hate thick palmed gloves, and these represent the "get a feel for your bike" mentality over the padded isolated feeling of so many gloves I've tried on. I had the opportunity to superman over the bars into some nasty gravel at decent speed, and the palms show'd no deterioration. Hands were fine... elbows not so lucky.
The back of the inner 2 fingers is made of a tough feeling and flexible material and is breathable. The outer 2 fingers are made even tougher, and have perforations back towards the hand for more ventilation. Thumb has a bit of terry on it for sweaty brow wipe'n. Could use more for my likes.
The carbon knuckle thing seems a good idea. I had the misfortune of testing it on a nasty fall into rock over rock switchback, and, I have very swollen outer knuckles, but, not broke... cannot say the same for my nose.
I tend to keep stuff for a long time. My last gloves had gone thru several "repairs" to keep them going, and are no longer made.
I'm going to pick up another pair of the unabombers so that in several years when I give up on my current pair, if they are no longer made, I'll still have a new a pair.
