The stumpmeister is built as a hardtail trailbike that will also see action is some adventure racing and a lot of epics, and then the occasional xc race. I chose a hardtail for reliability and the reset of the components for reliability and durability balanced with xc lightness. The thuddy, while adding a lot of weight, is meant to save my butt.
I just dig the race face stuff. I like the SRAM trigger shifters and RD, except the FD, which needs serious improvement, hence the only Shimano item is the FD. Wheels were chosen with durability and reliability over weight. and who doesnt want Chris King hubs?
I intend to one day fulfill this reachable dream. I already got the
frame, fork, thuddy, Race face stem and the SRAM x7 stuff. On the day I complete this bike, I just hope it wont be time for a new one. hehe
